Desir

Hello, my name is Chelsey Desir. I am a Clinical Counseling master’s student at Northwestern University, pursuing a concentration in Child and Adolescent Counseling and expecting to graduate in 2027.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Psychology from Saint Joseph’s University. During my undergraduate studies, I worked as a Peer Mentor in the ASPIRE program supporting students with autism and as an assistant teacher in an early childhood development center, which strengthened my passion for working with children and adolescents.

My therapeutic approach is primarily rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and I strive to create a warm, supportive, and collaborative space where clients feel heard and respected while building practical coping skills. I also take a strengths-based perspective that values each person’s ability to grow and change.

I am committed to providing inclusive, culturally responsive care and am especially interested in working with children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, and related concerns. After graduation, I plan to pursue licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania.
